Days 1 + 2 in Malta
June 15, 2022
I’m in Malta for work (copywriting job), and I’m crying because I am deliriously tired and anxious. And I know it’s uncool, but I just want to be home. Which sucks because I literally just got here.
I called Lolo and cried, and she made me feel better. I’m listening to the Morning Toast now to relax.
I did spend like 45 minutes by the pool and ocean, and I dipped my feet in and listened to these old Italian women giggling at their friend who was too scared to get in the water. And then when she was finally lowering herself in, there was a fly on her back and one of the other women was splashing her.

Last night at about 8 p.m., I had a team dinner with some fellow CX people, some ExOps, and some fulfillment team.
We walked to this Italian restaurant across from the hotel — overlooking the water — and had some wine + pasta. Everyone is so welcoming. I sat between Bernadette (French) and Soph (British), and we casually shared bites of our food like we’ve always known each other. That meant a lot to me. Ken shared bites of his rigatoni al ragu, too. Delicious. Soph actually hated her order, panzanella, and kept saying, “I’m actually about to cry.” I asked her about Ted Lasso (she hates), and she asked me about Selling Sunset (she loves). It was hard to stay awake at the end of dinner, but everyone was super cool about it and told me to get some rest.
