The Bean Queen

I’ve fallen into a rabbit hole where I’m obsessed with everything Organic Olivia. Her podcast is rocking my world. I’m truly learning so much from a variety of experts, and I CANNOT shut the fuck up about it.

:-)

The past couple of days, I’ve been learning about the bean protocol (from Karen Hurd) and the Bean Queen (Unique Hammond). Apparently beans are our planet’s greatest source of soluble fiber, and we need this specific type of fiber to help flush our bodies of toxins, excess hormones, etc.

On my hormone journey, I’ve also learned a lot of iron — because my body has too much. In fact, I went to get updated blood work last week, and my iron levels were high again. A couple days later, I got my period, and I wanted to re-test my iron levels. Sure enough, they were within “normal” range again. But my iron saturation is still high. Which is really bad. Because my iron could be stored in the wrong places, like my organs, and then cause damage.

Sooo, back to beans. Due to their soluble fiber, beans are amazing at helping your body actually help relieve your liver from doing all the detox work. There is a lot more academic and elevated way of explaining the actual mechanisms of the human body, but…. I don’t remember it all. Lol. Anyway, I’m going to work more beans into my diet to see how much excess CRAP I can flush out of my body.

The way I am so excited to eat beans and track my health is nottttt right. AYYYY. I love it tho.
